Ian Friedman

Ian is a Partner & Managing Director, co-leading L Catterton Growth. He co-heads the team's technology investing efforts. Ian is also CEO of Highland Transcend Partners. Ian was previously Co-Head of Goldman Sachs Investment Partners (GSIP) Venture Capital & Growth Equity team. Some of Ian's investments include Cadre, CompareAsia, Foodpanda / DeliveryHero, Hubba, Omio (fka GoEuro), Pinterest, Plaid, ResearchGate, Ring, Rothy's, Shift, Spotify, thredUP, Uber and Zola. Prior to joining GSIP, Ian has helped build technology companies through his roles at both Bain Capital and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Ian holds an Honors in Business Administration (HBA) degree from The Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario where he earned the Gold Medal and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 2012, Ian was an investor in technology companies at Bain Capital and a management consultant to consumer and technology companies at the Boston Consulting Group. Ian has an Honors in Business Administration (HBA) degree from Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario where he was the Gold Medal Winner, and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Ian lives in New York City.
