Carl Press

Carl is currently a Partner at Thoma Bravo, a San Francisco-based technology-focused private equity investment firm, where he co-leads the firm's $3.0bn Explore Funds. Previously, Carl was a Senior Associate at HighBar Partners, a technology-focused investment firm based in Menlo Park, California. Prior thereto, he was an Associate in the Special Situations Group at Oaktree Capital Management in Los Angeles, where he evaluated and executed investments in the technology, energy and financial services sectors. Prior to joining Oaktree, Carl was an Analyst at UBS Investment Bank. Carl has also worked in business development at Addepar, a venture-backed financial software company, where he focused on partnership opportunities in the alternative asset management industry. Additionally, he has held engineering roles at Analog Devices and Motorola. Carl holds a B.S. in electrical engineering, with honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar.
