Richard Magid started SoundBoard Consulting Group, LLC in the Spring of 2000 to work more closely with established business leaders after a twenty year career that included successes in international trade finance, commodities trading, and entrepreneurship. Over the last 12 years SoundBoard has worked with over 250 small to mid-sized entrepreneurial businesses. Richard has a strong financial perspective that stems from his banking career in which he managed the risk on a loan portfolio in excess of $3 billion. His financial skills are compounded by his tenure as a commodities trader, managing his own accounts in trading options and futures on the New York Board of Trade (formerly the Coffee, Sugar, Cocoa Exchange). Along the way, Richard built and sold a wholesale/retail food business and was integral in securing financing for the start-up of a staffing company. He is also the author of the recently published book Small Shifts Toward Collaborative Freedom. His charity work includes sitting on the Board of Directors for The BRAIN Foundation. Richard graduated from New York University in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and in 1984 with a Masters Degree in International Finance. He is certified in conflict resolution & facilitation skills, strategic leadership consulting, coaching and management training. His passion for working with business owners who want to grow, succeed and profit by improving their leadership skills has led him to a lifetime of diverse experiences.
